Nasd 100…2705 becomes the key hold and closing level for the rest of the week. 2728 is today’s resistance. The major lower retrace Fibs & Avg’s come in at 2665-55.
AAPL…the 460’s is the first fib from the 2008 low. 419-421 was the breakout # which led to 705, we could see this level again.
NFLX…147-150 completes a major 30% retrace from the previous qtrly double bottom @ 54 to the 304 July 2011 high. It’s a big swing and the stock just about doubled. The resting buy stops were elected in the aftermarket over last years high of 133.43. Price action back below this high early today can lead to profit taking.
ANR…10.38 is weekly resistance. We’d like to see this maintain above 9.50.
EWZ…is caught between 55.90 on the downside and needs new price action over 57.15 to rally.
Gold…this has been struggling with the 50 day @ 1495 and the 1700 level. This long position is not giving us any love. We’ll monitor this to see if we exit the trade and live to fight another day.
Soybeans…rolled over from 14.60 thereby confirming the JJG Death Cross @ 54.83. the Grains need some time to set up again.
Oil…yesterday’s low around 94.95 (- a few) is the hold level on the Point & Figure.
AUD/JPY… use 93.92-94.00 as your pivot.
General Comments…
Today is a hold or no hold day for risk assets.
Again, the game is in the names, some are in bear phases others in massive bulls. Do your technicals
in any instrument you happen to be involved with. If you’re not sure send me a note.
Bonds remain firm. When the dollar rallied yesterday there was buying here as well as high yielding equity names.
The big closing pivot for this qtr is 148.
